The Highboy - Antiques Simplified

The Antique & Design Center of High Point is excited to welcome TheHighboy.com as a sponsor of their Spring High Point Market Show.

Founder Douglas Scott will be speaking at the Antique & Design Center, at 10:30 this morning with Nancy Price of Nancy Price Home about "Designing with Antiques - Making Antiques Accessible for Any Client's Budget" Brunch and Bubbly will be served compliments of The Highboy!

TheHighBoy.com pledges to simplify antiques for the 21st century. Targeting designers and antique-lovers alike, the much-anticipated site went live with over 1,000 vetted items for sale and ready to ship.
TheHighBoy.com is an immersive image- and history-rich online space created to explore and purchase antiques, fine art, and intriguing objects from the industry’s most trusted dealers. The HighBoy’s mission is to inspire visitors by creating a narrative for the items on the site, and the dealers offering them.

“We want to provide an experience and context for the purchase of great antiques,” says Olga Granda-Scott, a second-generation dealer who founded the startup with her husband, Douglas Scott. With more than two decades of experience in the antiques business between them, the Scotts are tightly curating the site for inventory quality and authenticity with an eye toward pieces that have a story to tell, and a service guarantee that is unprecedented in the online antiques arena.

"The HighBoy is more than a website or a marketplace, it's a movement to expand the reach of the entire industry to new audiences," says Douglas Scott. The HighBoy is setting out to democratize the often-intimidating process of purchasing antiques by educating their users through editorial content, detailed descriptions, and dealer commentary.

The HighBoy is set to change the nature of antiquing online. Through a portal, which offers transparency, service, and ease-of-use for both consumers and designers, The HighBoy is certain to break down the barriers which have historically impeded buyers from entering the world of art and antiques.
